How to Audition
Audition registration for 2012 will begin in February. Those performers interested in enrolling in the stage course should submit a video clip of the performer singing a favorite tune. DVD’s can be submited to:

Submission of videos can be submitted by emailing clips or links to:

In lieu of sending in a DVD, If your performer has a clip on youtube, you can submit the link address of your performance to one of the two (2) emails above for review by our staff.
If you do not have or unable to send a performance video we will have one (1) on site audition Saturday February11, 2012 from 1pm till 4pm. Those interested in live audition must register via email to: star_songs@verizon.net
If you are chosen as one of the performers that we want to give a second look, you will be invited to a live performance audition. If you are luky enough to be called, you should prepare 16 – 32 bars of any vocal music to sing a’capella. You will audition in front of a 3 judge panel.
There are changes to this years stage course, we will limit the number of students allowed in the 2012 stage course.
The three (3) age categories, 8-10, 11- 13 and 14 -highschool will be continued as in the past, but there will be a limit of only 12 students allowed in each of the three (3) age categories.
The Cost: The cost of the eight week course is $250. The education includes one (1) 1-1/2 hour class each week for 8 weeks. The 8-10, 11-13 and 14-highschool students will be taught in separate groups for the class each week. Lessons/instruction will vary each week, a syllabus and course objectives will be provided at the start of the class. Vocal lessons with Ballard School of Performing Arts vocal instructor – Kirk Krider (For Mr. Krider’s professional cridentials visit: www.ballardmusic.com ) Students will also receive instruction on stage performance, proper use of microphone and other equipment. Students will learn some dance/coreography techniques to improve stage appeal. Lastly and probably the most important element of our program, students will participate in five (5) performances in front of a live audience. Dates TBD.
The Competition: The Searching for a Star Competition will take place in June 2012. This competition is an “open” competition. All performers age 8 -High School are invited to submit video clips or youtube links of their performances to be considered and called to compete. The cost for non-students is $75 which is only charged if the performer is accepted in the contest. There will be four rounds of competition; round 1, round 2, semi finals and finals. (Dates, locations and Times to be determined) By the time we get to the finals there will be nine (9) performers remaining, three (3) contestants in each age category will compete for (1st, 2nd & 3rd place prizes) Each age category will receive like prizes:
