2007 winner Jonathan Pilgrim meets Bow Wow and Omarion
To the parents of incoming SFAS 2010 performers, “Do we have plans for your chidren”, says Rob Hunter-Founder of SAFS Foundation! We want to inspire you to introduce your child to this wonderful opportunity offered by SFAS Foundation. Our aim is to make you proud as you watch your child grow on the stage. “There has been no greater training environment for me than that of being on the stage in front of a live audience. I am confident that proper training on the stage will have a positive influence on your child. It is my hope that the stage becomes a friend to your child”. During the 4th annual competition Searching for a Star is offering a stage preparation course as well as the usual competition. The SFAS Stage Preparation Course will focus on teaching our performers how
to bring their best to the stage. 2010 performers will have the opportunity to meet with vocal instructors, drama coach, stage director and a choreographer in the workshops between rounds..
The competition will be divided into two parts; beginning with an eight (8) week course consisting of 5 live performances and 3 workshops; during which there will be no eliminations! The second part is the competition which will begin in June. The competition is three (3) rounds of singing, preliminary, semi-final and then finals. There will be 9 performers that will make it into the finals (1st, 2nd&3rd in each age group) these finalists will compete for the title of SFAS winner 2010! Like in prior years the over-all winner of the competition will recieve the $1000 1st prize! This year we have added a new prize,$500 scholarship donation will be awarded to the fine arts department of the school that the over=all winner attends. Each year Search for a Star Foundation awards over $4000 in cash, trophies and prizes!
